Today was a very big day! We all went to church where Mommy and Daddy stood up in front of everyone with me and had me dedicated to Jesus! As the whole church prayed for me (and Mommy cried, as usual...) I could feel God's love for me and I can't wait to get bigger and hear stories about Him and His Son, Jesus!
Lots of family and friends came to the dedication today and they all got a special surprise - Pastor Paul picked ME to go up on stage with him when he introduced the dedication! He told everyone what a beautiful and well-behaved baby I was :) Well, yeah I am! Gosh, I thought everyone already knew that! I got about a million compliments on my little dress and shoes, so I didn't want to fall asleep in case I missed one... After the service, I was passed around from person to person like a hot potato no one wanted to give up! I got to love on Aunt Traci, Oma & PopPop, Aunt Mitsy and then had fun greeting everyone else - like Aunt Kathy, Uncle Jerry, Cousin Eric, Cousin Tasha, the Haase family (and my friend Sophie, who was also dedicated), Grama & Grampa, Grandma K and Aunt Nicole! See? I told you everyone was there!
I had a very special treat - the Verdons came to see me dedicated! Who are they, you ask? Well, Nicole is a very good friend of Mommy's who came to see me every Wednesday after I was born. I looove my "Aunt Cole!" She and Jacob just had baby Hunter at the end of March (he used to kick me when I'd sit on his mama's lap!) and I find him fascinating. I didn't realize that there were other babies out there and they were boys! I got to sit next to him and take pictures today and I guess he's not too shabby. I think we can be friends, even though he doesn't wear anything pink... :) I also want to thank Nicole for taking photo and video today! I can't wait to see how gorrrrgeous I am in the pictures!
Well after church I got another treat! We went to a fancy brunch with Grandma K :) There was food as far as the eye could see...yum yum! I, of course, am too refined for all that nonsense and chose to eat my toys instead. But I got to meet my Great Aunt Judy & Uncle John, which was wonderful! They're super duper nice!
That was the end of the excitement for the day - which was fine with me because I was so very sleepy! Daddy let Mommy have a nice Mother's Day nap while we worked on a very special card for her. This is what I wrote:
Mommy, I know that you have loved me from the moment
God breathed my life into your body.
The love from your heart kept me warm and safe.
The day I was born, the rest of the world got to see the love that we share.
When you looked into my eyes and held me close that day,
I knew I was safe and covered in love.
When we are together and your heart is warmed, I feel it too,
And when we are apart, I long for you also.
On this, your first Mother's Day,
I hope that you know that my love for you is a bond that cannot be broken.
Daddy may have helped a little but I was certainly the inspiration :) Mommy cried AGAIN when she read it (I think she cries more than I do - so sentimental, that silly mama...) and we got lots and lots of kisses!
We spent the rest of the night playing, singing and reading the best books in the world - Sandra Boynton books! I love it when Mommy reads "Moo Baa La La La!" After we read the last book one more time, I decided to be a crabbypants so Mommy gave me a bath. Mmmm bath... Now that I smell wonderful and am so very relaxed, I think I'll go to sleep!
Nighty-night!
