Learning New Things

This picture is from May 7th when all this cold, wet white stuff was falling from the sky and I'm crying out "What happened to my warm-playing-outside weather?!?"

Well it's been pretty exciting here at Chez Claire - my other front tooth has finally made its appearance! It's still coming through (and boy oh boy does it hurt!) but I'm pretty excited about it. Think of all the new things I can eat! I sure do love my numnums... :)

Not much has been happening here - playing with Mommy everyday, going to the park and playdates with my friends :) Our playgroups are done until the fall, which is too bad - I loved going to them every week! The good news is that we will still get together and play :) I spend a lot of time with my pal Lance - he's three and has the exact same birthday as me! That's really neat stuff! He likes to copy whatever I do - like, the other day I put on his old blue rainboots and a blue bowl on my head and he did the same thing! It was really funny (and neither of our moms had their cameras...slackers!). He's my favoritest playmate up here! **No, Hunter, I didn't forget about you back in Wisconsin - you're still my #1 guy :)

My days usually go something like this: wake up, snuggle with Daddy on the couch, play with Daddy until he goes to work (then we wake Mommy up if she's still sleeping - I like to run in the room, slap the bed really hard and squeal!), then I watch out the window when he goes until the truck is gone. Then I play with Mommy, eat some more, play and take a nap. When I wake up I like to eat right away, then I want to play on Mommy and Daddy's bed and push buttons on the television remote. I don't really look at it much - I just like to know what it does when I push the buttons :) Sometimes, though, Elmo is on the tv and I like to watch him! After play-on-bed game, we either play in my room or go play with friends at the playground when it's nice out. Then I eat again, wait at the window for Daddy to come home, play like mad with crazy Daddy, take a bath and go to bed after I drink my nightly cup of milk. It probably doesn't sound very exciting but I'm sure having lots of fun everyday!

Let's see... I'm talking up a storm these days but mostly only Mommy can understand what I'm saying. Some of the words I know are: on, off, up, down, closed, garbage (I really like to put things in the garbage can and help Mommy clean!), outside, help, cup, eat/more, cracker, all done, choo-choo, car, truck, banana, baby (which goes something like BAY-BEEEEE and Daddy sure thinks it's funny when I say it over and over and over again), dog, duck, kittycat, water, bath, potty, diaper, toes, eyes, ears, mouth, arm, hand, hair - and so many more that I can't even think of them right now! I'm getting to be quite the little jabberjaw :)

More than what I'm saying, I'm understanding things. When we read a book that has a picture of a window in it, I point to it and then the real window. I know that my babydolls are not real babies (good thing, too because I'm not very gentle with them...I may have run one over with the stroller a few dozen times earlier...) but still like to play pretend and feed them. When Mommy or Daddy say that the babydolls are going nigh-nigh, I put my finger to my lips and say "Sssss" (or shhhh if you prefer) - just like they taught me. I know that sponges and washcloths are for cleaning (which I really like to help with) and I can even wash my babydoll's dishes. I have learned that there's more than meets the eye to everything in the house - they all have different purposes and I'm trying to learn what they all do. I'm also learning to pick up after myself and help put my toys away :) I really like to help others!

Mostly though, I just really want to play and if I happen to learn something while I'm playing - that's great! And since I don't forget anything...I should be absorbing information like a little sponge :) I'm getting so independent, too - I don't want to let anyone help me with anything if I can avoid it. Mommy uses a word I don't know to describe it - I think she says "stubborn." Must mean something like "beautiful" or "wonderful" since I can't imagine anyone would use any other words to describe ME :)

Well, I'm off to bed - it's been a rough couple of days with my poor, sore little mouth keeping me awake (and cranky)! Nighty-night all!
