Quick Note

I just wanted to write a quick note to all my adoring fans out there :) As you all know, I'm just about a year old and super smart, so I thought I'd share some of my latest accomplishments - toot my own horn a little!

I'm wild about my baby dolls and I like to pretend feed them and give them a pacifier. I even make cute little eating noises for them! I give them hugs and kisses and love to sleep with a very special dolly that I got for Christmas from my Aunt Jenny :) I really love my toys and I'm learning how to use all of them. Mommy gave me some really big blocks and I figured out how to put them together - I like to make little buildings so maybe I'll be an architect someday! I'm learning how to sort shapes, too! I have two fun shape sorters - one is wood and makes a fun noise when you push the blocks in and the other is a blender that plays fun songs - they're two of my favorites! I feel so proud of myself when I get the right shape to go in the right opening :) Another of my favorites is my toy cell phone (but Mommy's red phone is still the best phone ever!) - I put it right up to my ear and say "Hello!" Sometimes I chatter away - Daddy taught me how to use the phone and we like to play talking games with it. I also got a magic music box for my birthday and some shiny things called "CDs" that play fun music for me to dance to! I love to dance! I bop along to all the songs - I especially like Kidsongs, where big kids sing :) I'm loving this music machine and all the time I get to spend dancing and listening to music!

Since Mommy is staying at home with me now, we're spending all kinds of special time together doing fun things. Just yesterday I helped her bake cookies! I used a big spoon and helped mix the dough and then I helped make little balls that this magical thing called an "oven" made into cookies. I couldn't wait for it to finish, though - I dug right into the dough and had a handful! It was deeeeelicious :) I also did the absolute cutest thing the other day - Mommy was playing with me on the floor with her head on my bunny pillow and I thought she needed some company, so I snuggled up to her and put my head on the pillow too! Even a busy girl like me needs a little snuggle break here and there!

Let's see....I'm eating everything I can get my little hands on (and then wiping those hands in my hair, much to Mommy's dismay) - my favorites are foods that I can feed myself! I'm learning to use a spoon and if my food is sticky enough to stay on, I can do it all by myself. I really love yogurt and eat as much of it as I can. I also like cookies and anything sweet lol! I have learned how to throw my food if you don't move the plate away as soon as I'm finished eating and like to drop food on the floor, just to see if you'll bend over and pick it up...(I'm a bit of a stinker!) I have been drinking from a straw for about six weeks now and I really looooove my juice boxes. I'll drink just about anything if it has a straw! I'm starting to want my bottle less and Mommy and Daddy say that's a good thing - time for a big girl cup instead! They are also threatening to take my Nuk away except for bedtime.... I think I could handle that - I don't use it that much and I'm getting to be such a big girl that I don't really need it.

I ask "What's that?" constantly (fun fun!) and say "DaDa" to just about everything. I can say other words (like hello, hi and kitty) and can mimic when you say things but I'm really not into this whole "real words" thing. I prefer my own little language and that's okay - Mommy and Daddy keep teaching me words and I know what they mean (like when you say "nose" I can point to your nose!). One of these days I'll just start talking and never stop! I wave hello and goodbye and love to hear people tell me how pretty I am because they always smile at me when they say it :) I really love to see people smile!

Well, golly - it sure is late and I've been a little under the weather this past week, so I should get some extra super duper sleep tonight. Nighty-night!
