As usual, it's been 100 years since my last post and there's lots to share :) The big news is that I'm a big girl and use the potty all by myself! At first I needed to be bribed with treats and stickers, but now I'm so proud of myself that I want to go. Plus, Mommy and Daddy said that when I stop wearing diapers, I get a big girl bike with a bell and ribbons on the handlebars! I'm pretty excited because I'm almost there! I only wear a diaper at bedtime and rarely have any accidents - even in the car :) Everyone is so proud of me and I'm proud of me too!
I've been a very busy girl lately... I have a new daycare and I love it! Playing with other kids is so much fun and we do lots of fun activities. Kate likes to take us to the library and I love to play with the train set and read books. At home I read my favorite stories to Mommy and Daddy, too :) I love books so much that I take a big pile of them into bed with me at night and wake up covered in books! I know all the colors and can count to three all by myself. I know the other numbers but they're not always in the right order but I'm going to keep trying until I get them right! I'm also getting really good at singing songs. Mommy taught me Twinkle, Twinkle and I can sing it all by myself! I can also sing the Elmo's World song (but I like to make it Claire's World lol) and I make up my own songs all the time, too.
Hmm. What else has been going on? We went to the big fair last week and Daddy won fish for me! I have my very own fish tank in my room now and I love to just chill and watch the fish swim around. Feeding the fish is super fun, too - I love to watch them gobble up the little flakes! I picked out a big dinosaur to go in the tank so they have something to play with. Everyone needs toys, you know... :) Today we are going to the pet store to get another fish (poor Winken got sick and now Blinken is all alone!) and I'm excited to pick out my own fish. I asked Mommy to take Winken to the doctor but we talked about it and I learned that fish are too little to go to the doctor and that they can't come out of the water for an exam - not like when we took Charlie to the kitty doctor. He didn't like that very much but the doctor made him all better. That's why I like to pretend I'm "Dr. Claire" and give all my stuffed animals checkups and shots so they can be healthy! I also like to give Mommy and Daddy a checkup, too. I look in their eyes and ears with my "eye-looker" and take their temperatures and they always get at least five shots :) Maybe I'll be a doctor when I'm big!
Where was I? Oh yeah! The fair! At the fair I also got to ride lots of rides (I love the big slide) and I even rode on a real pony! After the pony we went to see all the farm animals and I learned where milk comes from and how we get it. I got to touch about a million bunnies and I tried to pet the chickens but someone told me that they might bite so I decided to leave those guys alone... I played a game with ducks and won a stuffed monkey, which is my new favorite toy, and I also ate these amazing mini donuts that were surely the greatest food I've ever eaten... At the end of the night we all went on this magical ride called the Ferris Wheel and boy, oh boy I sure loved that! We went up so high and I could see the whole fair and even the whole town! I can't wait for the fair to come back next year :)
The other thing that I can hardly wait for is more fireworks! At first I was a little afraid of the loud noise but Daddy helped me to be brave :) We did some little fireworks in the yard (my favorites are the ones that you throw on the ground and they go "POP!") and I even got to hold a few called "Sparklers." It was super fun! When we went to the big fireworks I got to sit in the back of Daddy's truck and that was AWESOME! From where we were I could see fireworks all over and they were so big and bright and noisy and oh boy oh boy...I'm getting all excited again lol :) Let's just say it was cool....
I've been busy with other things, too, like going to the Children's Museum, Irvine Park & Zoo, the movies...so many activities! Daddy even took me fishing! We went to visit Grandpa K and I rode in a boat (Grandpa let me drive!) and then we fished and I threw worms in the water... It was the best day ever, I'm sure of it ;)
Well I think it's time to get going - there's lots of playing to be done today, so I had better get to it!
