Too Big for My Own Good

Here I am wearing Mommy's shoes, which is one of my favorite things to do

And here I am about to fall down the slide because I like to stand on the edge - don't worry! Mommy sat me down before I could slip!

Well, I'm getting bigger. Maybe too big for my own good, at least that's what Mommy says! Today, while Mommy was in the other room, I learned how to climb up onto the desk chair (that was always too big for me before) and onto the desk. I was very quiet, but Mommy still came to see what I was up to. Busted! I had a handful of pens and other goodies, and was sitting on the computer keyboard... Now they know that nothing is safe from me - mwahahaha!

Yessirree...I'm getting pretty big. And VERY willful. I want what I want when I want it and if I don't get it (which, sadly happens a lot) I scream as loudly as I can. Sometimes I stomp off, other times I cry but that scream is guaranteed. I like to make sure that it really pierces your ears, to be sure I'm getting the point across that I'm not happy. Yep, I'm a bit of a stinker.

But that's alright - I'm still little and learning about what is safe for me and what isn't. I made up my own sign for "owies" - I point to my open palm (I had an owie there once - a splinter that Mommy pulled out). So anytime I get an owie, I show you my palm and say "owwwieeee!" I've had quite a few owies these days... Mommy says I have no fear - well, that's true! I climb up on anything I can and feel sure that that I'm not going to get hurt. At my favorite park, when you climb up the steps to go down the slides, there's also a little mountain that you can climb down. Mommy tries to tell me its for big kids, but I think I'm big enough! I've nearly fallen off it at least a million times but I keep going back to it. I'm pretty brave, you know!

Aside from my daredevil antics, I've been pretty busy learning new words. I like to say "Bye-bye, Choo-Choo!" when I hear a train whistle - it's pretty cute, I must admit :) I also learned to say "money" and when I find a coin (or Mommy gives me one), we go and put it in my bank - which I can also say now :) I know who Abby is (from Sesame Street) and I'm learning all about shapes in "Abby's First Book of Shapes." I'm also figuring out how to put words together, like "bye-bye choo-choo" or "Daddy bye-bye" - it's a work in progress :) I like to put my babydolls to bed and say "Baby Nigh-Nigh!" Then I put my finger to my mouth and tell everyone "SSSSHHHH!" so the baby can go to sleep.

Last but not least, I've been pretty busy terrorizing the kitties since they came home a couple weeks ago. I'm just crazy about them! Charlie is super nice - he lets me pet him all the time. I'm not always nice, but Daddy and Mommy are trying to help me get better at that. Jack runs away from me most of the time - if he doesn't, he bats at me and tries to bite me. I think that this is a hysterical game and won't leave him alone. Yesterday, Mommy brought home a stick with ribbons on the end for the kitties to play with. I tried to use it but mostly just hit the kitties, so Daddy took it away. I was pretty mad about it but then I found other things to give to the kitties. I learned that I could give them food and other cat toys, like jingle balls and pom-poms!

Yes, it's been pretty exciting around here lately! Between my Evil Knievel stunts, temper tantrums and cat assaults, I've been very busy :) In fact, I've worked off enough energy that I think it's time for a nap! Nighty-night!
