Busy Baby

Golly - it has been forever since my last blog! I apologize to all of my loyal fans out there :) I've just been so busy getting big that I have hardly had a moment to get on the computer! (Plus Mommy has been just as busy, so she hasn't been able to help me type out these marvelous messages to all of you!)

Well, surprisingly enough, there really isn't a whole lot to report but I'm learning new things everyday :) Just the other day I started doing the sign for "done" when I'm finished eating - Jodi teaches me a little bit of sign language at daycare. Last month I learned how to point at things and say, "What's that?" and everyone goes bananas when I do it! I played with my pal Hunter a while back and his mommy Nicole taught me to say "Hunter," but I don't remember how to do it anymore. I'm getting pretty good at mimicking what the grownups say but don't always know what it means when I say it. Mommy read in a book about babies that I won't really understand that for a little while yet. For now, though, I'm just chattering away!

My motor skills are getting pretty slick, too! I run - yes, run, not walk - behind my little learning cart and have figured out how to turn it around and go back the way I came :) I'm also a naughty little climber... If it can be climbed on, I'm all over it! The other day I climbed in the laundry basket and made Daddy drag me around the floor - it was super fun! Then I climbed on top of the laundry basket and sat up on it like a throne (I am Queen Claire, you know)... I can pick just about anything up and have perfected the art of picking up Cheerios with my thumb and first finger. Mommy also gets me these yummy nummy puffs that taste like cheese or veggies and I'm a master at chewing those with my little tiny teeth :)

I have lots of new games that I play - one of my favorites is called "Terrorize the Cat." I chase the orange kitty all over the house until he bats his paws at me - don't worry, he doesn't have any claws! I also play "Stand on Kitty," which involves sitting, standing and rolling over the fat kitty. He's happy for any attention so it's fun for both of us! Daddy taught me how to pet the kitty gently and Charlie loves it when I'm a nice girl and pet him softly. Daddy also plays "Bowlhead" with me - he puts a mixing bowl on my head and I laugh at how funny I look in the mirror :) I also like it when he puts the goofy headbands on me so I can see it in the mirror. I learned how to stick things in other people's mouths, which everyone is pretty excited about... Just this morning I put my Nuk in Daddy's mouth and yesterday I stuck a bathtoy in Mommy's - it's a pretty fun game!

I really love music and play with my musical toys a lot. I like to dance to the music and sing along :) I think I'm a pretty smooth dancer - I flap my arms like a little bird and wiggle my butt! Dancing is super fun and I especially like it when Daddy stands me up and helps me get my groove on lol! He taught me some super slick moves like the "Baby Twist" and "Jiggle Baby" haha! Daddy is definitely my favorite playmate - he is SO much fun :)

My other super fun game that I play as often as possible is "Push Buttons on the Remote." I like to push all the buttons so that Mommy and Daddy can try to figure out how to undo what I did (like the captioning incident....that was hysterical)! I'm a very smart girl and when I push a button, I look at the television to see what it did. I think I might just be some kind of rocket scientist lol!

Well all of this typing is making me sleepy - I think I'll go take a little nap :) Have a super great day!
